Should I delete my pre searing character?
To mods: I'm not sure if this should go into the Q&A section, but this question isn't really related to the gameplay, it's more of... a second opinion...
I made a pre searing character a long time ago before Factions came out for the sole purpose of exploring and enjoying the sights of pre searing Ascalon. My W/R is lvl 11 there. Took me a hell of a long time and probably quite a lot of Charr hunting to get at that stage. But now, all of my character slots are full. The other 5 slots have maxed out characters which I don't want to delete. I really want to try out a new class which is the ranger class, but at the same time, it's difficult to tear myself away a delete my pre searing character. I still enjoy running around in pre because I like to admire the scenery and sometimes help out newbies. I am still thinking and trying to balance out which I might want more and which will benefit my gameplay experience more. Either keep the pre searing character and enjoy Ascalon in it's glory days (and play with Gwen), or make a ranger and learn something awesome. What do you guys think? I'd be happy to accept any form of opinions on what to do with the situation. ps. Of course, I could just wait until Anet reveals their option to buy character slots, but that might come out next century... |

I'd delete whichever provided the least amount of fun. It sounds like you wouldn't have much trouble 'maxing out' another character if you wanted to, if it came down to it.
*edit: are any of them close to a year old? You might want to hold on to an older character if it's about to get a mini-pet present. |

I recently started a new Tyrian character, Ive forgotton how awesome pre-sear is.. when i first started GW, i actually spent a lot of time playing here, and exploring the whole area before moving on.. if i were you, Id be hard pushed to delete your warrior if you have had him for a while.

(and play with Gwen)
Alright buddy, that right there is sexual assault. I mean, your warrior is 11 years old! WAY too old for Gwen! Delete him right now. |

Pre-searing Ascalon was great. But you can go back there anytime by making a new character... you can't go back instantly to your level 20 ones |

Well, sometime in the near future you're supposed to be able to purchase extra character slots. If you can wait it out, $10 to ArenaNet will solve your problem.

Delete him and enjoy a trip through the game with the new character you desire. As Doomlord stated, by the end of summer you could buy another slot if you wish to leave someone in presear.
Might as well enjoy your slots now! |

Quite honestly, if I were you I'd goto walmart, and buy another copy of GW and Factions. If you're willing to buy more charactar slots when they come out, why not just another account?
2+ accounts ftw. |

also depends on what stuff u have because theres no pre searing in ascalon to give ur current stuff to ur other chars. (so u might wanna get ur char out of presearing b4 deleting) plus the name, if its a bad name IMO i wood delete no matter what lvl it was.

Thanks for all your comments I'll bump this thread again to get a little more replies from others. As for now, I'll hold on to my pre character until further notice :P
'also depends on what stuff u have because theres no pre searing in ascalon to give ur current stuff to ur other chars.' I have 5k on her and a whole load of purple stuff... Not sure if they can be useful though...:P 'Quite honestly, if I were you I'd goto walmart, and buy another copy of GW and Factions. If you're willing to buy more charactar slots when they come out, why not just another account? 2+ accounts ftw.' Hehehe, my country is devoid of walmart. I would consider buying an extra slot, but the time I have to wait until Anet makes it available might outlast my patience. I also don't have enough money to buy another account :P 'Pre-searing Ascalon was great. But you can go back there anytime by making a new character... you can't go back instantly to your level 20 ones' Pre-searing is awesome! The problem is once I make a ranger, I won't be deleting him once I max him out. So I won't have an extra slot (again) to make another character and go and visit Pre. 'I'd delete whichever provided the least amount of fun. It sounds like you wouldn't have much trouble 'maxing out' another character if you wanted to, if it came down to it. *edit: are any of them close to a year old? You might want to hold on to an older character if it's about to get a mini-pet present.' The problem is I'm not sure if it's gonna be more fun playing as a ranger, or more fun playing my pre character. But my pre character is nowhere near being a year old yet... :P Last edited by Demesis; Jul 01, 2006 at 11:02 AM // 11:02.. |

If you really did make this character a long time ago, I think you should wait to collect your pet, get into post-searing, give your pet to someone you trust / sell it, then delete your character. This way you can make some free money or get another pet.
